The Metropolitan Area Neighborhood Nutrition Alliance's annual Pie in the Sky fundraising campaign is going strong in its 19th year, with MANNA looking to sell more than 8,000 pies to give nourishment to those in need.
For 2015, MANNA is selling five flavors of pie: Aberdeen apple (kosher), pumpkin (kosher), sweet potato, pecan and American Airlines Sky Pie which is a cheesecake cake pie with caramel, chocolate and walnuts. Each pie costs just $25 with the exception of the American Airlines flavor, which is $35.
Pie pick-up begins Tuesday, Nov. 24; MANNA's website has all the information you need to buy, sell, bulk order and pick-up your pies.
Proceeds from each pie provide seven meals to neighbors who are critically ill. This is MANNA's biggest annual fundraiser and they hope to raise over $200,000 through the initiative.
Pie sales end at midnight on Friday, Nov. 20, so be sure to get moving if you want to make a difference by eating dessert this year.
