Police are seeking the public's help in finding a suspect wanted in a home invasion in Toms River.
Toms River police say they responded to a report of a robbery at a home on Dock Street on Dec. 7 at 8:40 p.m.
A male suspect in his 30s rang the doorbell and pushed a 72-year-old woman inside, police said. He grabbed control of her arms and dragged her toward the interior of the home and toward the woman's 102-year-old mother, authorities said.
When the older woman attempted to activate the lifeline pendant around her neck, the suspect pushed her to the floor and yanked it away before she could push the button, according to police.
The suspect repeatedly demanded cash, and the victims complied with his orders, police said. He then fled the house and ran south on Dock Street.
He was last seen wearing a black knit hat, jeans and a waist-length coat. He had a thin build and appeared to be approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Lou Santora at (732) 349-0150, ext. 1276.
