A man was hospitalized early Tuesday morning after police say two suspects attacked him as he was returning home, CBSPhilly reports.
The incident occurred shortly after 12:30 a.m. on the 5900 block of N. 12th St. in Fern Rock.
According to authorities, two males with masks and guns approached the 28-year-old male victim from behind as he was returning home with takeout food. Police say the suspects forced him into the first-floor apartment, ransacked the house and took a Rolex watch from the victim.
They then shot the man in the leg and pistol-whipped him before leaving the scene in a dark-colored vehicle, police say. The victim was taken to Einstein Medical Center, where he is in stable condition.
The man's 27-year-old girlfriend, who was inside the apartment, was not harmed.
The incident remains under investigation.
