A Pennsauken man faces a first-degree murder charge for a fatal shooting in a South Jersey suburb.
The Camden County Prosecutor's Office announced Saturday the arrest of Isaiah Pascall, 23, for allegedly killing Joshua Simmons, 21, also of Pennsauken, during an incident on Feb. 22.
Authorities say the shooting happened shortly after a physical altercation escalated between an isolated group of people on the unit block of Russell Avenue in Merchantville.
Responding officers found Simmons lying on the sidewalk suffering from a gunshot wound, according to police. Simmons was taken to Kennedy Hospital in Cherry Hill where he was pronounced dead shortly thereafter.
Prosecutors say Pascall was arrested Friday night and taken to Camden County Jail where he is being held in lieu of $750,000 bail. An arraignment date is pending.
