A man has been arrested in connection with the case of a woman's body that was found buried off of Frankford Avenue Tuesday morning, Philly.com reports.
A police officer was alerted of the shallow grave around 11:00 a.m. The woman's toes could reportedly be seen sticking out of the ground. The body was discovered near the 4700 block of Frankford Avenue.
The identity of the deceased woman as well as the man in custody were not released. The woman's cause of death is awaiting an autopsy.
According to 6 ABC, the man fled the scene after being questioned by police about the grave. He had to be subdued with a taser before police were able to bring him in to custody. Residents reportedly heard screaming from a woman Sunday night, but the police were not alerted. Witness Jarrett Francis told 6 ABC that the man who was arrested had been looking for a shovel:
"He just recently moved out here. From what I understand, for a couple days, he's been trying to find a shovel. He's been asking people to borrow their shovels."
No charges have been filed against the man as of now.
