Officials with the Delaware River Port Authority are advising Philadelphia-area commuters to avoid the Benjamin Franklin Bridge Thursday afternoon due to major traffic delays stemming from an overturned tractor-trailer.
BFB Travel Alert: Expect major delays westbound to PA. Overturned tractor trailer has traffic reduced to 2 lanes. Use Walt or Betsy.

It's not clear what led to the accident, but the driver of the vehicle is believed to have survived despite sustaining injuries in the crash.
By 8 p.m., the DRPA announced that the accident had been fully cleared and all lanes were reopened for traffic.
Ben Franklin Bridge Update: Accident cleared. All lanes open. Speed limits posted at 45 mph.
