The Christmas Light Show and Wanamaker Organ Concert at Macy’s is a Philadelphia holiday tradition that dates back half a century.
Since 1956, a Christmas light show has taken place in the Wanamaker Building, which was the first department store in Philadelphia and one of the first in the country.

Each year, families watch the free light show, which features famous holiday characters, like Frosty the Snowman, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and the Sugar Plum Fairy. Julie Andrews is the show's narrator.
Macy's Christmas Light Show takes place at 10 a.m., noon, 2 p.m., 4 p.m., 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. daily, from Friday, Nov. 24 through Sunday, Dec. 31. The only exception is Christmas Day when Macy's is closed.
