Welcome in the Year of the Pig at a big Lunar New Year celebration on Saturday, Feb. 9. The event will be held at the Rail Park in Callowhill.
In collaboration with the Philadelphia Chinatown Development Corporation, the Friends of the Rail Park are hosting an afternoon filled with food and cultural activities. The family-friendly and pet-friendly celebration is free to attend.
There will be food trucks, Vietnamese coffee from Càphê Roasters and bahn mi from QT Vietnamese Sandwich, as well as dumplings, hand-pulled noodles and eggrolls from Brotherly Grub.
A traditional lion dance will be performed by the Philadelphia Suns at 2 p.m., and calligraphy lessons will be held from noon to 3 p.m.
Also, a "Book Bike" from the Free Library will be on-site. It will have books in English and Chinese, for both children and adults.
There's an entrance to the Rail Park at 12th and Noble streets.
