When the final selection, AKA "Mr. Irrelevant," is made, that is not the end of the draft to NFL teams. That is when the flurry of activity begins during the undrafted free agency process. The Eagles signed 15 undrafted free agents, which the team announced late last night.
Here is a quick list of them, with their overall rankings, according to CBS Sports:
Player | Position | School | CBS Ranking |
Devante Davis | WR | UNLV | 331 |
Eric Tomlinson | TE | UTEP | 358 |
Travis Raciti | DE | San Jose State | 389 |
Brett Boyko | OG | UNLV | 415 |
Kip Smith | P | Oklahoma State | 427 |
John Harris | WR | Texas | 523 |
Malcolm Bunche | OT | UCLA | 528 |
Jordan DeWalt-Ondijo | DE | Duke | 540 |
Raheem Mostert | RB | Purdue | 543 |
Cole Manhart | OG | Nebraska-Kerney | 549 |
Rasheed Bailey | WR | Delaware Valley | 685 |
Andrew Gleichert | TE | UCF | 787 |
Justin Tukes | TE | UCF | 787 |
Mike Coccia | C | New Hampshire | 865 |
Denzel Rice | CB | Coastal Carolina | 880 |
History says the one or more of the above players will make the team. Last year, two undrafted free agents made the team. They were TE Trey Burton and K Cody Parkey, although the team trade for Parkey who was originally signed by the Colts. Burton was a quality special teams contributor his rookie season, and Parkey made the Pro Bowl.

• The highest rated player (by CBS, anyway) is Eagles' UDFA class is Devante Davis, who has a nearly identical height-weight combination (6'3, 220) as Riley Cooper. Davis only played eight game in 2013, but in a full season in 2014 he had 87 catches for 1290 yards and 14 TDs.
• Raciti is interesting. The Eagles showed interest in him during the pre-draft process, and made him a priority UDFA signing. His "bottom line," via NFL.com:
BOTTOM LINE Raciti had a big sophomore season but struggled when he was shifted to a 3-4 defense as a junior. In 2014, Raciti moved back to a 4-3 and attacked upfield again. Raciti has to go up or down in weight because he's not big enough to survive at the point of attack on the inside. Some evaluators see value in Raciti slimming down and bouncing outside to a 3-4 strong-side linebacker spot.
From the Eagles' perspective, having Raciti slim down to play 3-4 OLB makes the most sense, based on recent history. In the past they have shown interest in bigger edge rushers like Mike Neal of the Packers (6'3, 284) and last year prior to the draft in former West Virginia edge rusher Will Clarke (6'6, 271).
• The Eagles showed interest in bigger blocking TEs during the pre-draft process, possibly with an eye toward replacing Brent Celek next offseason. At 6'6, 263, Tomlinson is just that, although he's not much of a threat in the passing game.
• Brett Boyko has good size at 6'7, 301, however, I could beat him in a foot race. Boyko ran a 5.60 40 at the Combine.
• Malcolm Bunche has some athleticism, but was benched this past offseason... twice.
• Harris had a nice senior season for Texas. He caught 68 pases for 1051 yards and 7 TDs.
• Last year punter Donnie Jones ran unopposed in training camp. He'll have competition this year. The Eagles may let Parkey run unopposed in camp this year.
