On a day that became bittersweet — Cliff Williams confirming his retirement, no Brian Johnson, rumors of it being the band’s last show ever — AC/DC still managed to completely rock the Wells Fargo Center.
Admittedly, I didn’t know what to expect. I mean, Axl Rose? But to be honest, if you closed your eyes, it almost felt as if it were still Brian Johnson belting out the band’s iconic hits. Almost. In general, Rose’s personal style stuck out like a sore thumb, but he smartly let Angus Young and the gang take the spotlight.
The set list spanned the band's 40+ year career, inspiring nonstop roars and devil horns from the crowd. Young still donned his classic schoolboy suit, shuffling back and forth across the stage and firing off those mesmerizing guitar hooks.
If the rumors are true and this was AC/DC's last show ever, I'm glad I got to be there. Let there forever be rock.
