Drivers should expect slow-moving traffic and delays Tuesday night on Interstate 95 north between the Betsy Ross Bridge/Aramingo Avenue Interchange and the Bridge Street Interchange due to construction.
I-95 north in Northeast Philadelphia will be reduced from three lanes to two between the two interchanges from 9 p.m. Tuesday to 5 a.m. Wednesday for concrete placement in the shoulder, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced Monday.
The northbound shoulder is being reinforced to "carry traffic during the next stage of the project, which involves shifting I-95 north traffic to the right to allow the contractor to remove three piers in the middle of the highway," according to 95revive.com.
Drivers traveling north on Aramingo Avenue between Wheatsheaf Lane and Church Street near the interchange will also encounter intermittent lane closures from 9 p.m. Wednesday to 5 a.m. Thursday while crews complete a traffic shift.
All scheduled construction is weather dependent and will be rescheduled for the following night if rain forces cancellation.
