Bobby LaFromboise can finally pack his bags and know exactly where he’s headed this spring.
Two days after being designated for assignment by the Phillies, LaFromboise cleared waivers and was outright to Triple-A Lehigh Valley. The lefthanded reliever will be in big league camp with the Phillies next week as a non-roster player.

LaFromboise, 29, had a 1.13 ERA in 11 games with the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2015. He was selected off waivers by the Los Angeles Angels from the Pirates two days before Christmas, and then selected again off waivers by the Phillies from the Angels two weeks ago.
But the Phillies then designated LaFromboise for assignment when they made a trade with the Angels, acquiring infielder Taylor Featherston for cash considerations or a player to be named later. After the two-day waiver period passed, LaFromboise remains off the 40-man roster but he at least knows he will have a locker with the Phillies in Clearwater, Fla., this spring.
LaFromboise will be one of six left-handers in camp competing for major league jobs, along with Elvis Araujo, James Russell, Daniel Stumpf, and starters Adam Morgan and Brett Oberholtzer. Fellow lefthanders Mario Hollands and Matt Harrison are coming off injuries and aren't expected to be ready by Opening Day.
