The free public celebration and "family fun event" complete with food, games, music and a mural dedication from Mural Arts Philadelphia is planned for Thursday, July 6, which is also Hart's birthday.
The celebration will begin at 10:30 a.m. at Max's Steaks along Germantown and Erie avenues in Franklinville lasting until 2 p.m., according to a news release from the city.
Speakers include Mayor Jim Kenney and Councilman David Oh among many other public officials. Hip-hop artists Chill Moody and Freeway will perform at the event, too.
Next week's celebration comes after City Council passed a resolution in March declaring July 6 "Kevin Hart Day." Hart will be turning 38.
“Kevin Hart is a fantastic ambassador for the City of Philadelphia, and this is a simple way to show him gratitude,” Oh, who led the resolution, said in March.
