UPDATE: Kevin Hart reveals second surprise Philly show at the Punch Line

Comedian plans to work out new material in hometown

UPDATE: 2:34 p.m., Tuesday, March 21

Time for an encore, apparently.

After rapidly selling out the Punch Line comedy club for a Monday night surprise show in Fishtown, Kevin Hart announced Tuesday that he's back for more. He'll be returning to the club again Tuesday night at 10:30 p.m. to continue working on material for his next tour.

But guess what? It's already sold out again. Sorry to take the wind out of your sails.

Kevin Hart is in town tonight and he's here to tell some fresh jokes.

The star actor and comedian announced on Twitter that he'll perform Monday night at the Punch Line comedy club in Fishtown. (The tweet has since been deleted and it appears tickets sold out quickly.)

By all appearances, Hart has been enjoying his time back in Philadelphia, where he's been filming for the upcoming adaptation of "Untouchable" with co-star Bryan Cranston. Last week, he reportedly hopped on stage for an impromptu act at Helium Comedy Club following Keith Robinson's show. This time, he'll have the stage to himself.

Hart has a had a notable week in Philly, highlighted by City Council voting last Thursday to make his birthday, July 6, an official "Kevin Hart Day" in Philadelphia. It's a well-earned laurel for the North Philadelphia native who attended George Washington High School and went on to both the Community College of Philadelphia and Temple University.

"I love my City.....I'm blown away by this," Hart said on Instagram over the weekend. "Philadelphia we will be Celebrating My B Day on Kevin Hart Day....How dope is that. The summers will never be the same damn it!!!!! Kevin Hart Day is about to be in full effect."

Named the world's highest-paid comedian last year by Forbes, Hart pulled in $87.5 million between June 2015 and June 2016, dethroning Jerry Seinfeld in the process. His first book, "I Can't Make This Up: Life Lessons," is due out June 6 via Simon and Schuster's Atria Books imprint.

Hart's last comedy tour was highlighted by a special "What Now?" performance in front of 53,000 people at Lincoln Financial Field, filmed live on August 30, 2015, and released in theaters last fall, grossing $23 million.

Those lucky enough to snag tickets at Punch Line tonight could be get a glimpse of Hart's routine for the next big thing. The show starts at 10 p.m.
