TMZ and The New York Times are reporting that the iconic fashion designer Kate Spade was found dead Tuesday morning at her New York Park Avenue home – the cause of death being an apparent suicide.

Police officials reportedly said Spade, 55, was found in her Manhattan home after housekeepers found her unresponsive. It was reportedly just after 10 a.m. A note was also reportedly found at the scene, though officials would not comment on what it said. Spade was pronounced dead at the scene.
The fashion mogul, who had more than 140 retail shops and outlet stores across the country, leaves behind her husband, Andy Spade, the brother of actor and comedian David Spade. The couple were married 24 years.
