Life comes at you fast. Less than a week after being released by the Eagles following a gun/drug arrest, wide receiver/kick returner Josh Huff has been scooped up by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and placed on the practice squad:
Here is what Huff and Bucs head coach Dirk Koetter said, via the Tampa Bay Times' Rick Stroud:
"We signed him to the practice squad. That's it," Koetter said. "All your practice squad guys are developmental guys you're trying to look at. We had Josh in the Senior Bowl a few years ago when I was coaching in Atlanta. We've got 10 guys on our practice squad and we're trying to develop those guys into guys who could help us down the road."
Huff is a major reason that the Eagles lead the NFL in average kickoff return yardage by a mile.
“I’m a professional athlete. What professional athlete doesn’t own a gun?" Huff said the day after getting arrested on the Walt Whitman Bridge. "I have a license and my job is to protect myself at all costs. I know we have security here, but I have to protect myself.”
