Germantown's Juneteenth Festival will take place on June 18, beginning at 10 a.m. The festival is a celebration commemorating the passing of the 13th Amendment, which abolished slavery in the United States.
During the day, the festival will include free exhibits, discussions, performances and other family-friendly activities. The event begins at 5109 Germantown Avenue at the First Protest Against Slavery historical marker. From there, a parade will march up Germantown Avenue to the Johnson House to kickoff the rest of the day's festivities.
Also, find a cultural marketplace, beer garden, historical reenactments and a panel at this year's festival.
