Police are trying to identify a man who they say exposed himself to a female jogger in South Jersey and performed a "lewd sexual act" in front of her.
Authorities said Thursday that the victim encountered the man on Friday, Feb. 12 in Buena Vista Township. While running past his vehicle, which was parked on the southbound side of Route 54, she said she observed him exposed while performing the act.
Later that day, the same man was parked in the lot of a nearby diner where the victim was returning to her car after her jog, according to authorities. Police say the man rolled down his window and asked the woman for directions.
After she obliged, the man allegedly asked if she would watch him perform a lewd sexual act. She declined and the suspect drove away, police say.
The victim told police the suspect is a white male, standing 5'7" or 5'9" tall with a stocky build. He had short black hair and was clean shaven with a neatly kept mustache, also wearing dark-framed glasses, she told police.
The suspect's vehicle is described as a four-door blue compact vehicle, possibly a Ford, with a partially-tinted front windshield.
New Jersey State Police posted the information about the incident on their Facebook page, including a composite sketch of the suspect saying they wanted the post to get shared and liked, because, "we would like locate this person so no one else is witness to this creepy, disgusting behavior."
Anyone with information is asked to call police at 609-561-1800. Anonymous tips are welcome.
