Jim's Steaks owner Abner Silver, 79, died Tuesday from complications of Alzheimer's disease, philly.com reports.

Silver switched from practicing law to becoming a part-owner along with William Proetto in the '70s. The two expanded the business before Silver took sole ownership in 2011 after Proetto's death.

Silver leaves behind a wife, two sons and four grandchildren. Memorial services will be Friday (11 a.m.) at Main Line Reform Temple, 410 Montgomery Avenue in Wynnewood, Pennsylvania.
