All-day jazz festival returns to Center City

Jazz Appreciation Month ends with 20 jazz performances

Music lovers, circle the dates for the annual Center City Jazz Fest, a daylong spring feast of hot riffs and cool jams. With the purchase of one ticket, fans can groove to almost two dozen bands performing at multiple locations, all within walking distance of one another.

On Saturday, April 30, Jazz Appreciation Month comes to a close, but not without a final celebration. Center City will host an all-day jazz festival, where general admission tickets give access to a full schedule of performances.

The Fifth Annual Center City Jazz Festival will feature 20 performers over the course of six hours. Venues Franky Bradley's (1320 Chancellor St.), U-Bahn Philly (1320 Chestnut St.), Fergie's Pub (1214 Sansom St.), MilkBoy Philadelphia (1100 Chestnut St.) and TIME Restaurant (1315 Sansom St.) will host the performances throughout the day.

For 2016, Gretchen Parlato, rising star harpist Brandee Younger, Ideal Bread with special guest Dave Ballou, The Captain Black Bigband, Ryan Keberle and Catharsis, Tim Green, Mike Cemprola and Killiam Shakespeare are included in the lineup.

Tickets are $20 in advance, or $25 day-of.
