UPDATE [7:01 p.m.] — Jalen Hurts did not have a concussion and re-entered Sunday's game against the 49ers after seven minutes in the locker room.

The quarterback dramatically trotted back onto the field — with the Eagles trailing by 22 points — and proceeded to lead them to a garbage-time drive touchdown drive (with a toss to Devonta Smith). He looked healthy. Major props to the QB for returning so briskly, even in the face of a loss.

The Eagles lost Jalen Hurts at the worst time Sunday, as the MVP candidate trotted to the locker room after a long examination in the blue medical tent at the start of the fourth quarter.

Trailing by two scores to San Francisco, the Eagles elected to punt on fourth and two, and Hurts got looked at after taking a big hit. Backup quarterback Marcus Mariota was taking snaps from center Jason Kelce on the sideline as Hurts was getting looked at. He being evaluated for concussion symptoms.

The Eagles will face the Cowboys next week in a game that could determine who wins the NFC East and gets the No. 1 seed in the conference.

We'll update in this space as we learn more about Hurts' ailment.
