Philadelphians were greeted to their first snowfall of the year late Wednesday night, and whiter powder could sprinkle the region over the weekend.
Light flakes began falling around 11 p.m., lightly dusting the city with a fluffy snow.
The snow preceded a sharp drop in temperatures, as the high for Thursday is expected to be around 27 degrees with a low of 15 at night. Philadelphia has issued a Code Blue, which will stay in effect until this coming Wednesday morning.
