In the span of a single week, Philadelphia shifted from the wintertime blues to a full-fledged spring preview. The tipping point came with Wednesday's record-high temperature of 82 degrees, a harbinger of balmy months ahead.
Fishtown residents will soon have a new place to cool off with the arrival of The Igloo, a dessert shop serving up everything from water ice, custard and homemade Igloo pops to shakes, gelato and sorbet, according to PhillyMag.

Located at 1514 Frankford Avenue, The Igloo plans to officially open its doors with a community event on April 2, including facepainting and a 4 p.m. raffle for a $100 gift card to fellow neighborhood newcomer Heffe Tacos.
The Igloo already has a flagship store at 23rd and South, but the company's expansion to Fishtown will come with the same local commitment to the community. If you happen to bring your dog along, for example, you can buy a little pup cup with a treat inside.
What sets The Igloo apart from most frozen treats vendors is that everything is self-served: you can mix and match at your own discretion.
For those who prefer healthy options, The Igloo offers a range of frozen yogurt flavors as an alternative. For the more adventurous, Igloo hot chocolate and a fully-stocked toppings bar will keep you occupied for as long as your goods don't melt away.
