The 2018 Fortune 500 list has been released, ranking the highest grossing U.S. companies by revenue – all of which made at least $5.4 billion in 2017.

For Philadelphia-area companies, most of the usual big name businesses were ranked, though two fell off the list since last year: Genesis Health Care in Kennett Square and Airgas in Radnor, the latter of which became ineligible for the U.S. list after being acquired by French company Air Liquide last year.

Of the 12 area companies still on the list, Chester County's AmerisourceBergen ranked highest, at No. 12, slipping one spot from last year. The drug wholesale company raked in $152.1 billion in 2017 and is no stranger to the Fortune 500 list, ranking for 24 consecutive years.

Another one of Philadelphia’s Fortune 500 mainstays, Comcast, ranked high on the list but still fell a couple spots to No. 33. Comcast’s 2017 revenues were $84.5 billion.

DowDuPont in Wilmington, Delaware, cracked the top 50, placing at No. 48 with a $62.68 billion in revenue.

In the top half of Fortune 500 rankings were another three local companies: Aramark (No. 200), Lincoln National (No. 205), and Universal Health Services (No. 268.)

The six remaining local companies landing in the second half of the Fortune 500 are Crown Holdings (No. 338), Campbell Soup (No. 358), UGI (No. 457), Chemours (No. 451), Burlington Stores (No. 459) and Toll Brothers (No. 480).

The country’s highest grossing company continues to be Walmart, for the sixth year in a row. New to the Top 10 is Amazon, which found a spot at No. 8.
