Journalist and television host Tamron Hall has been chosen to replace embattled comedian Bill Cosby on the Temple University Board of Trustees.
NBC Philadelphia reports that Hall, 45, who serves as host of the "Today" and as an NBC News correspondent, has been chosen to fill the seat that Cosby resigned from last year amid sexual assault allegations.
The university announced Hall's nomination for the seat last week. She was voted in by the board unanimously during a vote Tuesday afternoon, according to NBC.
A 1992 graduate of Temple's School of Media and Communication, she previously served as a host and reporter for MSNBC and as a reporter for several local news stations, including one in her home state of Texas.
Hall takes over for Cosby, 78, who has had more than 50 women come forward and accuse him of sexual assault or abuse.
He recently testified for seven hours in response to a civil suit from a model who alleges he assaulted the woman when she was 15. Cosby has not faced a criminal charge to date in any of the accusations.
