Three people were injured after a person inside a minivan opened fire in West Kensington Monday night, 6ABC reports.

The shooting occurred around 6:10 p.m. along the 2800 block of Boudinot St.

According to police, a person armed with a gun emerged from the sunroof of a minivan that was driving up the street.

"Witnesses say one of the shooters was in a gold minivan and the shooter was actually standing up with his upper body coming out of the sunroof," Philadelphia Police Inspector Scott Small told 6ABC. "He was firing an assault rifle."

Police said it appears two weapons were used in the drive-by shooting, and at least nine shots were fired. The shooters allegedly missed their intended target house and instead hit Susalyn Marreor's house.

Marreor's 25-year-old son was shot in the foot and her 22-year-old cousin was struck multiple times in the stomach. A 33-year-old man was hit in the leg.

The shooting remains under investigation.
