A Lindenwold man pleaded guilty to reckless manslaughter for selling heroin to a man who later died from his drug use, the Camden County Prosecutor's Office announced Monday.
Kevin Croxton, 26, was identified as the dealer who sold a 29-year-old Laurel Springs man heroin on April 6, 2014, according to authorities.
Prosecutor's say that just hours after the deal occurred, the victim died due to the adverse effects of drugs.
Croxton was charged in January with strict liability for a drug-induced death. In addition to reckless manslaughter, he pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled dangerous substance with the intent to distribute within 1,000 feet of school property.
He is set to be sentenced on Sept. 18 and faces a recommended seven-and-a-half-year prison term. He will have to serve 85 percent of any prison time he's given before being eligible for parole.
