United By Blue is an outdoor lifestyle brand with a unique aim. For every product sold, United By Blue removes one pound of trash from oceans and waterways through company organized and hosted cleanups. The flagship store is located in Old City, across from Elfreth's Alley.
Staying in-line with their environmentally conscious mission, the shop offers DIY workshops and local clean-ups. On Sunday, Feb. 7, the store will host a class on creating green cleaning supplies.
The cleverly named eco-friendly cleaning service Philly Maid Green will lead the demonstration discussing the dangers of conventional cleaning products, from ingredients used to the effect they have on health, air and water supplies.
Attendees will then create their own green cleaning supplies to take home.
The class is $10 per person and registration is required.
