Sometimes short and sweet is powerful. Think of Fredric Brown’s 1948 short story "Knock," which opens with, "The last man on Earth sat alone in a room. There was a knock on the door."
That's enough to send chills.
While the comedians at Good Good Comedy's Aug. 26 event won't be aiming to spook audience members with a few lines, they might have a tougher job. Can they make the audience laugh in a minute or less?
Sixty comedians will each get one minute on the Plays & Players Theatre stage to perform their monologue. The pressure is on to deliver the winning punchline.
Tickets for the event, beginning at 8:30 p.m., are $5 per person.
