During the 2019 Golden Globes Sunday night, celebrities such as Rachel Brosnahan, Mahershala Ali, Lady Gaga, Christian Bale and Sandra Oh took home gold statuettes for their work.
But even if they didn't win an award at the ceremony, stars didn't go home empty handed. A-list attendees received gift bags filled with high-end products.
Women who partied at the Instyle Golden Globes after party took home a gift bag worth a total of $529, while men got one worth $396, according to Page Six.
Inside were beauty, grooming and skincare products – including activated charcoal deodorant sticks from PiperWai, a women-owned, Philly-born company that found success on "Shark Tank."
This is actually the third year PiperWai's products have been distributed, but this year they only vied to be included in the men's bag.
"About 25 percent of our customer base is male. We want to start advertising more and promoting the product more among the male demographic. I think there's a misconception that natural deodorant is only for women, but we want to make it clear this is a product for everybody," said Sarah Ribner, co-founder.
It was a contact from one of Ribner's first jobs that helped get PiperWai into the hands of celebrities at the Golden Globes.
"He put me in touch with somebody at Time, and then they forwarded me to Instyle because they were looking for submissions for their awards gift bags. So we submitted."
"Doing these awards bags has been a great partnership for us. We've even had some offers from actors who want to become brand ambassadors. It has opened us up to some really influential people."
