NBA star Michael Kidd-Gilchrist will hand out food to needy Saturday

Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, a top professional basketball player for the Charlotte Hornets, is sponsoring a Food Bank of South Jersey “Hope Mobile.”

Camden County native Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, who plays in the NBA for the Charlotte Hornets, is sponsoring a Food Bank of South Jersey “Hope Mobile.”

The 18-wheel tractor trailer, which holds 45,000 lbs. of food, will be unveiled Saturday.

The truck is going to the Winslow Township Elementary School, 131 Sicklerville Road, Sicklerville, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Kidd-Gilchrist, who grew up in Somerdale, and his family will also volunteer at the event, distributing food to local residents.
