Giant Food Stores is making grocery shopping just a little bit easier.
The Pennsylvania-based supermarket chain is partnering with Instacart, an on-demand delivery service, to bring shoppers in the Philadelphia area their milk and eggs with same-day delivery, Instacart announced in a news release Thursday.
“Giant is loved by its customers, and we believe Philadelphia residents will enjoy the added convenience, not to mention having one less errand to run," Nilam Ganenthiran, Instacart's chief business officer, said in the release.
Shoppers can use Instacart's app or just stick to its website to order groceries, which can be delivered to their door in as little as an hour or ordered up to seven days in advance.
Instacart has already partnered with several Philadelphia-area stores, including Whole Foods, Acme and Di Bruno Bros., for its delivery service.
One-hour delivery includes a $7.99 delivery fee, while a time window of two hours or more is $5.99. Annual memberships are available as well.
Instacart comes as an addition to Giant's own delivery service, Peapod.
Giant operates almost 200 stores in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia.
