CJ Phillips and Charlie Rainwater, a self-described "tech bear" couple from Oregon, had the foresight to purchase the domain www.JebBushforPresident.com back in 2008.
Now that Bush has formally announced his 2016 presidential bid, the two plan to use the platform to educate individuals about the impact of politics on LGBT families.
The former Florida governor and presidential hopeful, in the past, has vocally opposed same-sex marriage, including sharing his belief that gay and lesbian couples had no constitutional right to wed.
In an interview with the Huffington Post, Phillips and Rainwater shared their plans for the platform.
"We don't want it to be just a protest site, but to be relevant to the current social/political climate," they said.
"We want to facilitate positive discussions. Neither one of us is a fan of just bashing on other groups, so we hope we can engender some understanding from a diversity point of view" - CJ Phillips and Charlie Rainwater
Given their self-described identity as tech bears, the men told Huffington Post reporter JamesMichael Nichols they’re both very familiar with how a well-designed and implemented platform can influence people's thinking.
"Whether we take a political stand or a social justice path, we hope to educate," Phillips and Rainwater told the Huffington Post. "We want to facilitate positive discussions. Neither one of us is a fan of just bashing on other groups, so we hope we can engender some understanding from a diversity point of view."
JebBushForPresident.com is currently in the design stages. Keep checking back for updates.
