Led by the Bridge Street Foundation, renovations to the Playhouse Inn form part of the broader Riverfront Revitalization Strategic Plan, which aims to bring new life and cultural amenities to New Hope.
The hotel and restaurant will be connected to the Bucks County Playhouse next door, another recent beneficiary of the Bridge Street Foundation's effort to bolster the arts and leisure community in Bucks County.
After falling into disrepair, the original Playhouse Inn at 50 S. Main Street was chosen for a fix up that will include 12 rooms, several dining areas and a preservation of the historic Carriage House, one of the oldest homes in New Hope. Kevin Daugherty, principal owner of Playhouse Inn, also envisions a green space between the two buildings that will serve as a "town center" with a beautiful view of river.
Garces will serve as the official food and beverage provider for the Playhouse Inn.“I am so honored to partner with Kevin Daugherty on this historic project,” said Chef Jose Garces. “Bucks County, home of my Luna Farm, is close to my heart. This riverfront location is spectacular and Kevin’s vision and commitment to the project have been inspiring. It is so exciting to be able to help the arts thrive in New Hope.”
The Playhouse Inn is expected to open in 2018.
