Man tied up as wife, grandson hide during Frankford home invasion

Police say a man was tied up at gunpoint during a home invasion overnight in Northeast Philadelphia, CBSPhilly reports.

The incident occurred around 3:30 a.m. Wednesday along the 1300 block of Sellers Street in Frankford.

Police say two masked men woke up the 51-year-old resident and pointed guns in his face. They tied him up with electrical cords, gagged him with a shirt and then ransacked the bedroom and living room, according to authorities.

“The suspects took about $200 in cash, a 52-inch flatscreen TV, and they also took [a] Playstation,” Chief Inspector Scott Small told CBSPhilly.

According to police, the man’s 52-year-old wife and 10-year-old grandson hid under a bed in another bedroom.

The two suspects are believed to be in their late 30s or early 40s. Police say they broke into the home through a rear glass door and later fled the scene the same way.

No one was injured.

The incident remains under investigation.
