TMZ is reporting that police were called Wednesday afternoon to the Miami Beach, Fla., mansion of rapper Lil’ Wayne after receiving a phone call from a shooter who threatened to start a gunfight with police. The shooter also claimed to have shot four people on the premises.

Lil’ Wayne’s label, Young Money issued a statement on twitter that Wayne was not home during the alleged shooting.

The police believe that this might be a case of “swatting”, a ploy to initiate a full response from law enforcement.

According to Billboard.com, a representative from the Miami PD relayed the following update to reporters the scene: "At 12:40 in the afternoon we received a call on a non-emergency line. The individual advised us he had shot four people [at the residence] and requested police assistance. At this point we have not located any victims."
