The first annual Philadelphia Food Fest is coming on Saturday, Nov. 21 and it's gathering dozens of local eateries for a massive restaurant crawl. The citywide event will stretch through Philly's many neighborhoods as over 50 restaurants open up their doors - and their pockets - for charity.
During the Food Fest, participating restaurants will offer small bites and drink specials with a portion of the proceeds benefiting Philabundance, the Food Trust and Alex's Lemonade Stand. Tickets to the event are free or donate-what-you-wish and the event is pay-as-you-go. The idea is to hop around to different restaurants all over the city so that the Food Fest can reach its donation goal of $25,000.
The official participant list has yet to be revealed, but eateries from Avenue of the Arts, Fishtown, Queen Village, University City, Fairmount and more have already joined up. Diners can also bring canned goods to donate at locations throughout the crawl, just in time for Thanksgiving.
