A Philadelphia police officer was dragged through the street after making a traffic stop early Sunday morning, according to media reports.

6ABC reports that the incident occurred around 2:30 a.m. near the intersection of 61st Street and Lancaster Avenue when the officer stopped a male driver for a suspected DUI.

The motorist hit the gas and pulled away during the stop, dragging the officer along before he fell to the ground. The officer was not injured.

According to NBC Philadelphia, another officer saw the car in question later on City Avenue near Monument Road. The officer followed the car, leading to a police chase before the vehicle crashed into two other cars on the City Avenue Bridge.

The man fled on foot before being captured by police, the news station reports. It is still unclear if the man in custody is the driver from the first incident and police are still searching for a female passenger from the car.
