A flash flood watch remains in effect for much of the area through Monday evening, according to the National Weather Service.
Showers and thunderstorms are expected to continue and increase through the afternoon and evening. Rainfall may be as much as two inches in an hour in some areas.
Dangerous roadway flooding may occur as a result. Drivers are encouraged to use caution while on the roads.
Showers and thunderstorms are likely to continue into Tuesday morning, with sunshine making a return on Wednesday.
