Out of all the world's distinctive regional cuisines, the traditions originating from Thailand are widely considered among the most intricate, carefully balanced and flavorful in their profile. By combining aroma and spice to powerful effect, Thai soups and dishes encourage us to savor both our meals and the company we keep for a night out on the town.

Whereas many cuisines emphasize the separation of each entree, Thai food is all about mixing up textures in a practice known as khluk, which relies on rice to soak up the flavors of vegetables and meats. This is usually further encouraged by a selection of sauces and condiments served on the side, so each bite can be its own experience.

Philadelphia is fortunate to have Thai restaurants distributed conveniently across the city, providing great options to fit the occasion, wherever you happen to be. Here are five of Philly's best spots for Thai.
