Billed as the first Thai restaurant in Philadelphia, Erawan offers an extensive menu with spice levels ranging from very mild to volcanic hot. Standouts include the Royal Rama Chicken, Fantasy Duck (topped with shrimp, squid, vegetables and brown sauce) and the Macha Miracle (red snapper or catfish topped with Prik King chili sauce, bell peppers and green beans). There are also plenty of lunch and dinner specials. If you want takeout, this is a solid bet.
This family-owned restaurant in Rittenhouse focuses on harmonizing flavors through classic and modern techniques, with French cooking influences and an upscale atmosphere.
