Five students were injured in a stabbing at a California university campus on Wednesday, according to a release from the University of California, Merced.
The UC Merced Police Department said the suspect was shot by police and later died from his injuries.
The stabbing occurred in front of the Classroom and Office Building on Wednesday morning.
Two victims were transported to a local hospital by helicopter. The other three were treated on campus. All victims were reportedly conscious.

The campus is closed, and all classes are canceled for the day. Police have advised that people avoid coming to campus for the rest of the day.
