A fisherman died after falling into the Wissahickon Creek Tuesday night, FOX29 reports.
The 63-year old man from South Philadelphia was fishing with two friends when his line hit a snag, according to police.
He waded in about waist-deep water after falling in and then slipped under. Rescue crews were called to the scene just after 9 p.m. when the man did not resurface. His body was recovered about 40 minutes later.
The creek is about 25 feet deep in that area, officials said.
The victim has not yet been identified.
