Apparently, in this world of arbitrary holidays we live in, Monday, July 6, is National Fried Chicken Day. To celebrate, Federal Donuts is bringing its limited-edition Port FedNuts Fried Chicken Sandwich to all four of its brick-and-mortar locales.
Usually only sold at Port FedNuts in Spruce Street Harbor Park, the sandwich runs for $7 each. It consists of battered and twice-fried boneless chicken breasts with buttermilk ranch seasoning layered with American cheese, Red Hot mayonnaise and dill pickle chips on a Martin's Potato Roll.
The sandwiches will go on sale Monday at 11 a.m. and will be available until sellout. You'll find the sandwich at the South Philly (1219 S. Second St.), Center City (1632 Sansom St.), West Philly (3428 Sansom St.) and North Philly (701 N. Seventh St.) locations.
Can't make it? Well, the sandwiches will still be sold at Port FedNuts seven days a week through the end of the season.
