Philadelphia police are searching for two suspects after a Friday night shooting that left a flower shop deliveryman dead during an armed robbery.
The victim has been identified as 36-year-old Manuel Andrade, a father of two girls, who was confronted while walking home from Flowers & Company on 19th and Sansom Streets, NBC 10 reports. Police say the robbers approached Andrade on the 2100 block of Master Street and opened fire, striking Andrade in the stomach about a block away from his house.
He was taken to Hanehmann Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Nadine Louw, the owner of Flowers & Company, set up a GoFundMe account to help the family cover the cost of his funeral and recover from their tragic loss.
Please find it in your heart to help his family and let's hope the perpetrators are brought to justice for taking this very special man away from us all. We were lucky to have known him and he has left a permanent impression on our lives. He taught us all how to be selfless, kind, humble and hard working human beings.
Andrade had recently gotten married and had been an employee at the flower shop for the past several years. He told his co-workers that he was looking forward to taking his children trick-or-treating for Halloween this year.
Police have yet to release a description of the two suspects. An investigation is ongoing.
