It's not a food fight like in a middle school cafeteria. It's the annual Fairmount Food Fight, where no one will want to throw their food because it's so delicious. Some of Fairmount's best restaurants will be serving dishes.
The foodie event is set for Nov. 17, beginning at 6 p.m. at Girard College's Founder's Hall. Attendees will enjoy samples from more than 20 Art Museum-area restaurants, along with complimentary beer from Yards Brewery and wine.
Here are the participating restaurants:
Bar Hygge
Bassetts Ice Cream
The Belgian Cafe
Bridgid's Philly
Buena Onda
Butter Soul Food to Go
Crime & Punishment Brewing Co.
Dim Sum & Noodle
Jack's Firehouse
La Calaca Feliz
Le Pain Quotidien
McCrossen's Tavern
The Monkey & The Elephant
Mugshots Coffeehouse
Rembrandt's Restaurant and Bar
Rybread
Rybrew
Snap Kitchen
Sweet Nectar Dessert Kitchen
Tela's Market & Kitchen
Trio
Urban Saloon
After sampling each dish, vote in various categories for favorites. This is where the "food fight" comes in. Each restaurant is fighting to be a winner.
General admission tickets are available for $65. VIP tickets are available for $75. The 2016 Fairmount Food Fight is the largest annual fundraiser for the Fairmount Community Development Corporation, which supports neighborhood improvement projects.
