A new app is giving users rewards and discounts for living an ecofriendly life.
The Washington, D.C.-based app, Ecoviate, asks consumers to take a picture or video of something ecofriendly and upload it onto the app or their Facebook, Twitter or Instagram.
Partnered with mobile rewards company, Kiip, Ecoviate provide users with rewards and discounts from some of the most popular brands in the country, including McDonald's and Best Buy. Ecoviate also works with Trees for the Future to plant trees in under-developed areas. One tree is planted for every download.
“We are building a cleaner planet by changing the entire incentive structure behind sustainability,” said Param Jaggi, CEO of Ecoviate.
The app launched this month. The company said the app will lay the foundation for future hardware products that will be fully integrated later this year.
