We’re just going to assume you are already well aware that July 13 is National French Fry Day, and to celebrate, you already have Chickie’s & Pete’s penciled into your planner.
Because Crabfries.
But in case you need more incentive – or maybe an excuse to eat Crabfries for both lunch and dinner – the restaurant’s full-service locations are celebrating today with “Crabfries for Heroes.”

What that means is that for the second year in a row, on National French Fry Day, the restaurant is selling its signature fries for $1 from 11 a.m. to midnight, with proceeds from the sales going to the Philadelphia Fraternal Order of Police Survivors Fund.
The money will help support the families of fallen police officers, which is particularly timely this year given the recent deaths of police officers in Dallas.
According to a press release on the “Crabfries for Heroes” event, Chickie's & Pete's will also feature $5 Miller Lite personal pitchers.
You may also spot the "Crabfries Express" truck driving throughout the city today, as it will be making deliveries to multiple police districts to hand-deliver free Crabfries to the men and women in blue.
