April 03, 2017
This year, Easter Sunday falls on April 16. For many families, hiding chocolate and toys in plastic eggs for kids to find is a favorite activity to celebrate the holiday.
Over Easter weekend and the weekend before, neighborhoods across the Greater Philadelphia area will join in the tradition with community egg hunts in gardens, parks, museums and activity centers.
Many of the egg hunts below are free; all are $15 and under.
Families can attend a free outdoor Easter egg hunt on April 8. Children ages 4 and under start at 11 a.m., ages 5-7 begin at noon and ages 8-10 hunt for eggs at 1 p.m. After collecting the eggs, check for prizes.
Included in the early Easter celebration will be music, crafts and pictures with the Easter Bunny.
After the party, businesses along East Passyunk will offer special kid-friendly brunches and shopping deals.
