The East Passyunk Gateway project, which will turn an underutilized parcel of land into a pocket park with a pavilion, benches, tables and lighting, is officially underway, the Passyunk Post reports.
The groundbreaking took place Wednesday.
The park, to be located at the intersection of East Passyunk Avenue, Broad Street and McKean Street, is being funded by a $500,000 grant from the William Penn Foundation and spearheaded by the Passyunk Avenue Revitalization Corp.
